Venus Transit 2004

 

Tuesday June 8, 2004. The planet Venus transit in front of the Sun after more than 121 years from the last Venus transit visible from Earth. The picture show the entire solar disk, the complete transit sequence and an small sunspot group close to the center of the Sun.

Optics : Astro-Physics Traveler 105mm EDFS + Nikon 2x Teleconverter TC-301, f/stop F/12   
Mount : Astro-Physics GE-600E GTO
Exposure : From 1/250 sec. to 1/750 sec.  ISO 200 - Nikon D100  "Raw digital format"
Processing : Minor curves, brightness/contrast enhancement, USM 75-2-2  - PS 7.0 -
Filter : BAADER AstroSolar "White Light Solar Filter"
Note : Beautiful day with good seeing. Mosaic of 9 different frame.
