Mercury Transit  " The 2nd Contact "

 

07 May 2003, the planet Mercury transit in front of the Sun. This sequence show the small black disc of the Mercury during the second contact.

Optics : Astro-Physics 155 f7 refractor with AP Barlow 2x and TeleVue Plossl 17mm eyepiece projection
Mount : Astro-Physics GE-1200
Exposure : 3 single exposure 1/120 sec. with Nikon CoolPix 4500 (Fine mode 100 ISO) 32mm f/5.1
Processing : Minor brightness/contrast enhancement, USM 100-3-2  - PS 6.0
Filter : Baader Planetarium Herschel Solar Prism 2", ND 3.0 filter

Note : Poor seeing and tiny clouds
