M42 - The Orion Nebula |

The Great Nebula in Orion is one of the brightest and beautiful areas of the night sky and it is visible to the naked eye under dark location. Very large, it covers 4 times the area of the full moon, this emission and reflection nebula is located about 1500 light years. Also called "The Sword" this nebula complex include M43, the small northeast region separated by a visible dark lane and the blue reflection nebula NGC1973-5-7. |
