Messier Field

 

Eight of Charles Messier objects ( go to Label ) appear in this picture centered in the constellation of Sagittarius just north the Milky Way core. From top left the red emission nebula M17 and just below the little star cluster M18. The bright star cloud near the center is M24 with to his right the large open cluster M23. The famous Laguna and Trifid nebula complex M8,M20,M21 are visible in the lower part with the little globular cluster M28 to his left.

- Optics / Lens : AF Nikkor IF-ED 180mm f/2.8  - F/stop 4 - Nikon FM2 
- Mount / Guide : Astro-Physics GE-600E GTO autoguided by SBIG ST4
- Exposure / Film : Composite of two 16-minute on un-hypered Kodak PJ400 Film
- Processing : Film scanned at 2700 dpi with Nikon CoolScan LS30 scanner, enhanced with Adobe Photoshop 6.0
- Note : Dry climate, windy
