Comet Hale-Bopp

 

The Great Comet of 1997- Hale-Bopp was my first real astrophotography target. This image of 5 April 1997 shows the Comet and the Open Cluster M34 (Perseus) just at north of comet nucleus.

 

- Date / Location : 05/04/1997 from Passo Valbona - Tonezza  1800mt.  (Vicenza - Italy)
- Optics / Lens : Zeiss Sonnar 180mm f/2.8  - F/stop 4 - Olympus OM-1 
- Mount / Guide : SC Celestron 8 Ultima - Manually guide
- Exposure / Film : Composite of two 6-minute on un-hypered Kodak Royal Gold 1000 Film
- Processing : Film scanned at 2700 dpi with Nikon CoolScan LS30 scanner, enhanced with Adobe Photoshop 6.0
- Note : This is one of my first astrophotography attempt with an old Zeiss Sonnar lens
